OC and I went to the beach this past February. There were so many starfish! They were in these makeshift little tidepools in the sand rather than in the typical rocky areas. The beach was full of pools that held the water from high tide, but since we were there at low tide we saw all these guys that had been temporarily stranded. We saw probably a dozen or more, all different colors, shapes and sizes.
